Popular Discussion Forums In Nigeria

A forum is a community where people of common interest discuss diverse issues.
Over the years, the amount of people who use the internet in Nigeria has risen. Nigeria has the highest internet users in Africa.
There are many websites in the internet ranging from blogs, e-commerce and directories. Forum is also one of the type of websites that is on the internet and that is what I’ll be discussing today.
In this post, I’m going to list out different Nigerian forums, what they discuss about and other information about the forums.

List Of Nigerian Discussion Forums

There are more than 20 forums in Nigeria but I won’t be able to list all of them in post hence I decided to pick the best. The traffic and relevance of the forums where put into consideration before I listed them out.

Nairaland Forum

You might have heard of Nairaland even before coming in contact with this blog.
Nairaland is not only the biggest online forum in Nigeria but also in Africa.
Nairaland is an internet forum founded by Seun Osewa in 2005.
The forum currently has over 2.5 million registered users with 5 million threads.
Although the traffic of the website isn’t public, but it is estimated to records over 500 thousand visitors daily.
The forum covers a wide range of topics ranging from technology, education, travel, politics, business, games and a whole lots of others.
One good thing about Nairaland forum is that it is a faceless forum, this means that the users are private hence they can give out their opinion without the fear of people knowing who they are.

Nigeria’s Creative Talent Forum

Also known as NCT forum, this forum is focused on creatives just like its name implies. It helps people in different skill sets get tutorials and guides concerning their crafts.
Nigeria’s Creative Talent has different board ranging from software design, writing, blogging and others.
I’ve been a member of this forum since 2019 and I have benefited alot from it.

Nigeria Message Board

Nigeria message board has almost thesame feature with Nairaland.
This forum was created in 2014 to help Nigerians form an online community where they can discuss about different issues concerning Nigeria and themselves.
This forum hasn’t been active like it used to be but it’s also a superb forum and the old threads can still be of help to new members.

NaijaPals Forum

NaijaPals is a niched forum, what I mean by niche is that it focuses on a particular topic.
This forum focuses on Nigeria music and movies. If you are a music or movie lover and you want to connect with people of similar interest with you then registering on NaijaPals wouldn’t be a bad idea.
NaijaPals doesn’t only offer a discussion forum for its users but also an avenue where their users who are singers can upload songs for the listening and review of others.

GistMania Forum

GistMania Forum is a partner if NaijaPals and is focused on music and entertainment news.
The members of GistMania update the forum with different news covering not only the Nigerian entertainment industry but also industries from other countries.

Nigerian Best Forum (NBF)

This forum is strictly for people searching for jobs, admission or people who are pursuing a career in a field or business minded people.
NBF has become a go-to for many Nigerians who are looking for scholarship or job opportunities.
NBF has built a reputation over the years and has also built a community of loyal members who update the forum with business Ideas and other opportunities that would benefit the members.

EveryoneKnows

If you are familiar with Quora then you will understand how this particular forum works.
EveryoneKnows isn’t necessarily for “discussion” just like the others. It is more of a question and answer website where the members come to ask questions about a topic and users who are knowledgeable in that topic would give an answer or opinion.
The website has almost thesame interface with Quora and would be of help to you if you are an academian or a person who loves making research.

BestNaija Forum

This forum was founded in 2010 and call their users besties.
I was opportuned to be a founding member of this forum, even though I haven’t been active for quite some while, I must say that this forum has helped me immensely.
BestNaija Forum doesn’t only offer discussion on thread to its users but also features where they can chat.
This forum is getting more popular as the day goes by and would be of great benefit to you if you are looking for a forum where you can connect with young Nigerians who share thesame vision with you.

Jackobian Forum

Jackobian forum is a Nigerian forum that focuses mainly on technology and cryptocurrency.
The forum was very active and gained alot of traction in the early 2010’s but started recording a decline in activities recently.
Nevertheless, this forum will still be of great use to you if you want to learn the basics of crypto or other information related to technology.

NGStudent Forum

This forum was created for Nigerian students in 2016. It has different boards that covers alot of educational topics.
NGStudent forum creates an avenue for students to come seek for help from other students when they are having issues with assignments or an assessment.
This forum have over a thousand threads in different topics that the new members can benefit from by just using the search bar.

Like I earlier said, I can’t list out all the forums in one post because they are much. However, I feel there are still reasons why I should mention a few more forums incase they ones I already listed doesn’t fit into the category of forums you are looking for.
